Ebay account Hacked
Due to a severe identity theft, someone from the dark web took over my account, and I was locked out of my own account. I spent a lot of time with Ebay and they are denying me access to my own account because I no longer have the phone that I set up my account with. The phone number has already been assigned to another, and I cannot get it back. I have some listings still showing but there is no way I can remove them. If a Buyer makes a purchase, I have no way of completing the sale. The last conversation I had with Ebay they said they would turn me over to collections before they would consider taking down my listings. The listings will not expire on their own, as they are not auctions. Such a ridiculous situation with no reasonable solution. I won't waste your time by voicing my extreme frustration. I was an excellent Seller with a stellar reputation. I even sent a certified letter to Ebay headquarters asking for help. I did not receive a reply. Can anyone help me? Thank you so very much!

Mentor2 years ago@candy888x Sometimes a different agent MIGHT have a different result. Not having the phone number access is an issue when it comes to hacked accounts.
What will happen if they don't end the listings is they will keep relisting if they are Buy It Now. If an item sells then the buyer will file a not received refund request, the account will get a defect for each refund request filed since you can't refund the buyer eBay forces a refund from your back up payment method for selling costs.
I would be looking at what back up payment methods I had for that account and see if they are still active or not. If they are not active then eBay can force the refund out of your Managed Payments account.
This will continue until the account has enough defects that it will be banned. Usually doesn't take many unless you were a high volume seller.

Mentor2 years ago@candy888x WOW. I am sorry that eBay is not helping you. Have you talked to the actual trust and safety department not just general customer service? This is the only advice I have. 😞
This is the dedicated number for Hacked Accounts: 1-866-961-9253
( customer service agents at this number can only help with account security issues)
