eBay’s buyer protection policy
I was recently the victim of an eBay scam. My package was given a tracking number by the seller that was tied to a different address than mine completely. eBay will not request a signature on delivery for items that are less than $750. This item was $716. Since it was a real tracking number, the item was marked as delivered. However, when I contacted the seller for proof I was given none. So I contact UPS and they said they couldn’t given me documentation proving the incorrect address, but the did acknowledge that the addresses weren’t congruent. When I spoke to eBay they refused to contact UPS. So now even though I know my package wasn’t delivered me, eBay, nor UPS will contact each other on the buyers behalf. Furthermore, since the tracking number showed delivery to the same city I live in, EBay said this was proof enough of delivery. I appealed and they still denied. And now, even though I continually reach out for help from customer service, they took down my negative feedback and no one will return my requests for a call even though I have proof on the form of audio recordings from UPS, verification that I never signed for the package, and customer service messages to eBay where the item number and item number in dispute continually change. So buyers, be incredibly careful because the money back guarantee that eBay provides is paper thin and in most cases will not get you your money back.
