I made a purchase under $800 in the US and was charged a duty fee. I read that purchases under this amount is not charged a duty fee?

Mentor11 months agoThe $800.00 "de minimis" exemption is supposed to be gone in a few days. Gone for good, presumably.
Perhaps your purchase was a type of item that previously had the de minimis exemption listed already?
OR perhaps your total purchase was over $800.00, what with shipping and sales taxes.
