Double tax payment
Hello,
I have a question. I am a buyer. I bought something from the USA (Pennsylvania) to the EU (Austria). The value is 400 usd. I was charged a 20% VAT at checkout. Now it is not clear to me what this VAT represents. According to the documentation, it says that for values up to EUR 150, the tax is paid at the checkout, and everything beyond that is paid when the goods are delivered. This value is over 150 euros and I was charged with VAT at checkout (it is not specified which tax, 20% corresponds to Austrian tax). Does this mean that I have paid the VAT twice, on checkout and delivery?
