Double Invoicing
Summary: greyhoundmom1 shared an issue about being double-billed for an item purchased through a seller on eBay, and received no response from eBay's support. eastlaneave apologized for the situation and recommended several steps, including filing a police report, an internet crime complaint, and a chargeback with the payment method used. They explained the seller committed fraud by ordering the item under greyhoundmom1's name at a higher price. greyhoundmom1 expressed frustration with the resolution process and appreciated eastlaneave's patience and support.
I ordered an item and paid for the item, received the item. Then one month after Dr. Leonard, probably company she ordered from starts sending me bills for triple the amount I paid for same item and says I owe them. Contacted seller, she said forget it. For the last three months I'm getting bills from this company saying they are going to report me to collections....so I paid it. Now the seller is no where to be found. Reported to EBAY but no response other than, they are looking into it.

I'm sorry that happened.
This seller's feedback is terrible and has been for over 6 months.
Please read feedback to help avoid scammy sellers like this. eBay eventually catches them, but as you've experienced, it's better to avoid them.
The seller probably lost their ability to sell.
To get your original payment back:
Please gather some or all of this documentation, then file a chargeback on your payment method, PayPal, or credit card. That goes back to eBay and your seller.
1) File a written police report with your police department. They won't investigate, but you want a copy of the report. You may be able to do this online.
2) File an Internet Crime IC3.gov case https://www.ic3.gov/Home/ComplaintChoice
It's an online form.
3) If it was delivered by US Mail, file a Postal inspector mail fraud report https://www.uspis.gov/report
It's an online form.
4) File your chargeback and upload your documentation (items 1-3 above)
5) If your credit card declines you, open a case with Consumer Financial Protection Board: https://www.consumerfinance.gov/complaint/

OP2 weeks agoThe Seller delivered the product promptly... She must have ordered from Dr. Leonard's to get the item, then they billed me also.

Yes, I understand what happened.
The seller committed fraud.
They took your money and then ordered an item on your behalf to be paid for after delivery.
That's what you are reporting.
The file a charge back for the amount you paid the seller.

OP2 weeks agoSeller price was $58.00 the order on my behalf was $157. I'd rather have the $157 back.

You can file a chargeback on that one if you wish.
That will go to the company Dr Leonards, not eBay nor your seller.
The seller is the one who committed a dishonest sale, not Dr Leonards.
My guess is your credit card will decline a chargeback on the 157, but may approve the 58.
