I am out more than $90 and eBay has shown me that their support staff is generally incompetent e.g. creating an expectation that PayPal might do something in this situation shows an unforgivable lack of knowledge of a business that eBay undoubtedly deals with extensively. BTW eBay has just informed me that I have been a customer for nine years. Poor treatment of a nine year customer IMO.
In your Paypal account, what is your default method of payment? It sounds like it might be your checking account. Have you contacted Paypal customer service?
Update, I just spent over an hour in chat with 3 reps (2 of whom disconnected before I could type my message). Ends up I am supposed to contact my bank or PayPal. Of course these WERE authorized transactions. So both of those routes seem unlikely. I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED IN EBAY.

OP2 years agoPayPal is supposed to be the default. I have contacted eBay customer service with no results so far. I will try them again.

OP2 years agoFurther update just as I thought PayPal sees these transactions as normal (even with my explanation) and will do nothing.
