Dont believe what an agent tells you. Sad.
Bought an item that the seller did not remove fluid from and it leaked everywhere and damaveed the electronics. He insisted to just put a return label on the box. So i did. Fedex refused it. They szid if they accepted it it woukd go i to a cept where it most likely would not get firwarded or returned. That means im out my money. I called and ebay said have them mark it. Fedex did. Refused, return to sender and gave it back. I sent photo and agent szud i was good. To discard it and i woukd be refunded. A week kater no refund. I called. Agent said yes i see the case and your refund should be issued within 24 hours. Another week i call and was told case was denied. The agent said he saw where both agents told me money was coming. he also saw the regurn label attached and fedex sticker. He said higher up ne er looked at it. But someone higher up without any correspondence to me now denied the claim. He agreed they never sent me anything . i had checked several times and it said hang tight its being processed. Well now after tossing the mess they want me to get a statement from fedex. The agent at the airport i deal with was super nice advising me if they scanned the item in the system i most likely would loose it. she applied their rss sticker which says return to sender and included their address and contact information. Ebay says because i did not leave it they changed their mind. So im out 1100$ and had i left it id be out 1100$ so im screwed. I advised the seller that it would need to be doubled boxed, special pads and shipped with a hazmat sticker. I offered to get that but it was 100$ and he would not pay. So dont believe a word ebay tells you as i did because even though they say yes thats what we told you it appears they can change their mind. 25 years with ebay but i think im done.

Mentor4 months agoI think you should stick around. If it took 25 years for this situation, maybe it will be another 25 years before another.

OP4 months agoCertainly nice thought but at 74 years old once you no longer trust a company at their word I really don't need their service. And it's 1100$ we are talking about

I've always paid with my debit card attached to my checking account . I don't think they really do anything but will check.
My attorney said due to the amount and penalties it's worth him taking over. May have to go that route

But earlier you said "25 years with ebay but i think im done" so . . . if "I'm done" means the same thing to you as it would to me if I said it, there's no point in bothering to change your payment method because you won't be using eBay henceforth anyway. Is that not true?

OP4 months agoExactly. But I'll be using other companies and now that I know I don't have protections with my payment method I'll be setting up a safe guard. And I have a little stock I bought to sell so I will finish it out but will not be buying on here
