Donation at checkout issue
I want to be able to Donate at Checkout to a charity I have designated as a Favorite (in my settings).
I believe that sometimes a Seller can pre-select that charity, in which case their choice of charity overrides mine as a Buyer so there is no option to change it.
To test the functionality of Donate at Checkout I bought something tonight.
In that case, the charity was preselected (not by me), and the name of that charity is "human-I-T". I gave that charity a dollar.
However I want to select my own charity, which I understand I should be able to do if the Seller has not already designated one.
But I've done a ton of tests tonight, and it is stuck with this preselected charity "human-I-T"
eBay for Charity FAQs does not address my issue and does not have a designated Customer Service link. So I've burned through 5 regular eBay customer service reps tonight who keep transferring me to the next.
Does anyone have ideas on how to troubleshoot? Thanks!

Mentor1 year agoI believe only the seller can select which charity they wish to have part of the proceeds donated to. To donate to a specific charity, you would have to find sellers that have selected that charity in their listings.

OP1 year agoThank you but actually, no; the Buyer can also choose to donate to a Favorite charity; but only if the Seller has not already added one to that listing. (see "Buying to benefit charitable organizations")
In my situation, for every checkout I attempt, no matter what seller or what listing, eBay has one particular charity - always the same one - already preselected. I conclude that there is some kind of technical issue in my settings because there is no way that so many random sellers and items have selected the same charity for their item.
