Does the seller have any rights?
Sellers have NO rights on Ebay. All the buyer has to do have to do is say the item is not as described and the return is basically automatically granted because Ebay holds back your funds especially if your fairly new. Ex. Sold earrings with description "approximately .50ctw. The buyer requested return for not as described and said they were only .45ctw. I had a very well known jeweler give the .50ctw and I did say approximately. Well I had nothing to say about it since Ebay authorized the return. It was nothing but buyers remorse because her claim of .45 ctw is false as I went back to the jeweler and he verified with a high level of certainty that the ctw was between .48 to .52 ctw. Then I get an email from Ebay as a warning that I am not following Ebay rules because I am getting a high percentage of " not as described". How could 1 return out of 48 be a high percentage. Anyone else coming across this situation or is it because I am a new seller. Ebay already put me through the ringer when they restricted my account and asked for all sorts of ID verifications and not all at once. As soon as I gave them what they requested they asked for something else. Kept me strung for 8 weeks while they held back my funds. Thanks for letting me vent. I have a sour taste in my mouth for Ebay now.

Mentor2 years agoSince ebay cannot see exactly what you are selling, they will always find in favor of the buyer if the buyer files an Item Not as Described. You accept the return, pay for return shipping, and when tracking shows DELIVERED you refund the buyer within 2 days if the item is returned n the same condition as when you shipped it. You can always relist the item and change the weight of the earrings and increase the price a bit.
