Does the 4-Day Cancellation policy for unpaid items mean 96 hours, or just 4 days?
I sold a handbag March 2 at 3:00pm. They still haven't paid and it's March 4. What is considered 4 days? Anytime Sunday? Sunday after 3:00pm? Monday? Monday after 3:00pm? Will I have to cancel the sale or does eBay do it automatically? I'm growing tired of people asking for a discount then taking their time to pay. Can I tell people they have to pay asap if they want a discount? If so, how best to word it?
I haven't sold on eBay in ages and it's a bit different. Any help is appreciated. Thanks bunches!

Mentor3 years ago@tabbycat320 It is a FULL 96 hours so I usually tell sellers they can cancel as buyer hasn't paid on the 5th day.
Sorry you are experiencing so many bad buyers.
1. The only way to avoid this problem is to list as Fixed Price immediate payment required, only NO auctions and NO best offers. ( eBay does have a new setting you can turn on to require buyers to provide a payment method before they make an offer. It is at the bottom of this page:
https://www.ebay.com/bmgt/buyerrequirements. This will not apply to auctions)
To have the immediate payment required option you will need to change listing tools if you are using the Quick Listing Tool.
Start a listing from this link for the New Listing Tool: https://www.ebay.com/sl/prelist/suggest?sr=shstart
The IPR box is located by selecting edit all fields in the payment section for this listing tool, then click on the blue hyper link for Payments Managed by eBay. On the next screen you will have the option for Immediate Payment Required.
2) If you have offers from suspicious buyers or they don't pay then add them to your blocked buyer list:
https://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?BidderBlockLogin
3) If buyer doesn't pay then on the 5th day after sale cancel as buyer hasn't paid. This prevents the buyer from leaving feedback and they receive a strike. Final value sellers fees are not charged until an item is paid for.

4) Have you set up your shipping preferences and buyer requirements in account settings:
1. Exclude shipping locations
https://www.ebay.com/ship/prf/excludeRegions
2. Block buyers whose primary shipping address is in a location I don't ship to AND block buyers with 2 or more unpaid items in 12 months.

You can also turn on the automatic unpaid item assistant that will cancel the order for you at exactly 96 hours if you wish. However if you run auctions and wish to offer combined shipping then I'd set it 7 days.. OR as I do continue to handle the cases manually.
Here's where you can turn on the automatic cancelation option:
