Does eBay send a payout for shipping?
I am the seller. I bought a shipping label on my own, rather than use eBay to purchase the shipping (because I wanted to make sure my shipping coverage was correct). When eBay sent a payout, it was about $8 less than I expected (after fees and such). Did eBay take the shipping cost out of my payment, even though I didn't go through them for shipping? And how do I get help from an actual person? The AI customer service is no help.

As a new seller you will have a 21-30 day hold placed on your payments until you prove to be a reliable seller. On your account the payment status will show Pending, but the amount you state for shipping is available to be used to buy shipping labels through ebay. Otherwise you pay out of pocket. the link below explains the hold and how to deal with it to get the funds released.

If you use ebay's shipping calculator you will get the correct amount for shipping if you measure and weigh your packages correctly, and do that before listing an item. You can go to a shipper's site to see what their measurement/weight requirements are, so you enter them correctly into the calculator. read the info in the link below

FYI, there is a discount for buying labels through ebay and when you do the tracking number is automatically uploaded. Otherwise you have to manually upload the tracking number to the sold listing page, so that ebay and your buyer knows that you have shipped the item.
