Does Ebay Perpetuate The Fraud Performed by Some of Its Sellers
Twice now I've been duped into bait and switch purchases, so I'm wondering why Ebay doesn't protect its buyers from bait and switch techniques.

Go to My ebay > Purchase History
Locate the item. Click on RETURN THIS ITEM because it is Not as Described. You will need to click on More to see that option. The seller will need to provide a prepaid shipping label for its return. ebay sends you a link to print out the label. Print out the label, affix it to the box, and have the counter clerk scan the label. When tracking shows DELIVERED back to the seller, the seller needs to refund you within 2 days. If no refund, go back to the case and click on Ask ebay to step in, to force the refund.

"Bait and switch" typically refers to a high-pressure in-person sales technique, where a merchant advertises a great deal, but when a buyer comes in to the store to take advantage of the deal, the seller pressures the buyer to buy something else instead, refusing to make good on the originally advertised deal.
Given that eBay is an online venue with a money back guarantee for items that are not as described, how are you being pressured to buy items you do not actually want to buy?

OP4 months agoYes, I guess this would be classified as more of a Counterfeit/Drop-Ship Swap where the seller claims to have let AI write the product description.
IMHO eBay is Predators (Sellers) and Prey (Buyers), and I've reported them to the Attorney General; and will, as a consumer protest in the only way I can. STOP USING EBAY
... at least Amazon has a 100% guarantee ...

eBay has a money back guarantee for items that are not as described, no matter the reason. Use eBay's guarantee to return the item at the seller's expense for a full refund, just as @disneyshopper suggested.
Not all eBay sellers are the same, and you do yourself a disservice if you treat them all the same.
Avoiding new or inexperienced sellers or sellers that appear to be drop-shipping might be a good idea. Stick to sellers that have a proven track record of delivering what was described if you don't want to have to resort to invoking the money back guarantee.
