Does eBay investigate items that are for sale under their retail value as potentially stolen items?
When items are offered for sale on eBay that are far below their retail value, does eBay investigate for potential theft of these items? It's my understanding that the increased thefts from stores is co-incident with items being sold for less on the internet.

Mentor2 years ago@elasmosaurbls eBay does not investigate every item that is sold below retail, that would be impossible with the millions of listings.
However if a seller suddenly starts selling brand new high priced items they are required to provide receipts proving purchase and the sellers account is frozen and no funds released.
The "know your customer" laws where a seller has to provide a checking account that matches their registered name and address and government ID along with a SS# also help cut down on this type of issue.
