Does ebay do anything to seller who cancels paid order only to list the item for 4 times the price?
Summary: atd.dfl.ua72m2spr described a frustrating experience with a seller who canceled their purchase of a unique dress, claiming damage, only to relist it at a higher price. They felt deceived and noted this isn't the first time it has happened to them. krazzykats responded by mentioning that frequent order cancellations can negatively impact a seller's metrics, potentially leading to suspension.
Earlier today, I purchased a gunne sax tye dye dress (one of a kind) for $95.00. It was a buy it now and payment went through immediately. Twenty minutes after i purchased the item, the seller sent me a message stating she found slight damage (needed to sew it) and canceled my order. She told me that I could choose something else in her shop for my inconvenience. I said no and for her to send the dress I had purchased after she fixed it. The listing stated it was in mint condition and I didn't see any damage zooming in on the photos. Well, this evening I saw that the exact listing for the mint condition dress but with a price of $385.00. She lied, canceled my order, so she could turn around and ask a higher price. Recently, I have had several orders canceled after I paid for the item, but this is unbelievable!

Mentor1 week ago@atd.dfl.ua72m2spr I understand that this is frustrating. The sellers accounts are seriously affected if they select Out Of Stock/ Damaged for the cancelation reason so the system will take care of these bad sellers.
If they LIE about the cancelation reason then you should report them>
https://www.ebay.com/help/action?topicid=4022 Suspicious Activity> other Then say in the box that seller lied about the cancelation reason to Avoid a defect
eBay can not force the seller to complete the sale though.
