Does eBay care one little bit about the seller ???
It seems eBay only cares about people who purchase because they get their cut instantly. The seller is hounded to ship product. Then you have the non commitment bidders out there that like to our bid and not pay . eBay likes to act somewhat like their protectors, they put your funds on hold until delivery. Where's my security it's my product I work hard on but nobody cares about that just sit and wait. I think I'm done with eBay. I would like to that the kind customers whom I have had a great pleasure dealing with. eBay goodbye your service is only about your bottom line well I must do the same and PASS on eBay...

Mentor2 years agoHi @twoequal69 If you plan to try selling on any venue where you ship, you must learn how to correctly calculate shipping costs. New sellers often lose their shirts by underestimating shipping. There is no method where you could ship that heavy vice or that child's couch to me for $4.11. In order to run a shipping based business, you need a postage scale that will tell you exactly how much the postage is going to be before you list. If you don't want to buy one that goes up high enough for large and heavy items, you can box them up and take them to the post office of a UPS store and they can tell you how much they weigh before you list. Some of your items might go easier as local pick-up. eBay has a local pick up option that works pretty much like Facebook Marketplace or craigslist. Good luck!

< I think I'm done with eBay ... eBay goodbye >
Well, I for one will hate to see you go. I looked at your Completed Items and in your brief stint you have listed some good stuff. Your pics could have been better (clutter in the background) but that would have come with practice. Good luck.

OP2 years agoThank you yes I'm new at this . But I'm not new at customer service and I've done my best to exceed expectations while being insanely interrupted with emails of reminders that I already handled. Then the flip side to that is people bid on my stuff win the bid but don't buy . That's schilling. I'm in the car business I go to auctions all the time if I win the bid and don't have funds available that day I could loos my dealers license. Only thing eBay cares about are there fees. That they deduct instantly then make me wait for my funds ridiculous

Mentor2 years agoIf a buyer does not pay, wait 4 days and then cancel the transaction with the reason buyer did not pay. This gives them a strike; 2 of those in a year will keep them from bidding/making offers.
Yes, new sellers are subject to payment holds for up to 30 days, but it is to protect both you and eBay. During that time, a buyer can open a return and the funds are already held in the case a refund is in order. That ends after you become more established and your funds are paid out daily/weekly (whichever you choose).
Buyers do have more protections than sellers. Sellers can issue non-payment strikes and block buyers. They cannot issue negative feedback like buyers can. We just have to give the best service possible and please our buyers, using the tools we have. It gets better!
