Do USPS shipping labels expire?

Question

I've searched all of the help articles and this community forum, but can't find a conclusive answer to my question.

I printed a USPS label today for a sold item. The label is dated today, Saturday, April 20. I drove to my local post office to drop it off, but all the parcel boxes were locked shut for the weekend. Is that label valid only today, or can I safely wait until Monday to drop it off? If that's not possible, I guess I'll have to cancel that label and buy another one.

You are "supposed" to ship on the day shown on the label, but if you ship on Monday, you'll be fine. If you tried to ship several days from Monday, then the post office may put up a fuss - some are stricter than others.
