Do I need to return a defective item if the seller doesn't request me to do so?
I recently had to request to return one defective item from each of two different multi-item orders. I’ve been notified by ebay that I have already been refunded for both and that the returns are “complete” but I am confused as to whether or not I need to return the single defective item from each order to its respective seller. Normally this is required unless I get a message from the seller that the refund will be processed and that I DON’T need to return the item, which I have NOT received. Further, I recall being told during keying in one of these return requests that ebay would supply a prepaid shipping label, but diving deep into the records for both returns I can find no mention of a label. What am I supposed to do? The AI Assistant is too stupid to recognize my inquiry and sends me down a wild goose chase path (and won't connect me to a human agent, surprise, surprise). I'm happy to return one or both items but since they were defective I shouldn't have to pay the postage. One item is worth $10-15 and the other a little less.
