Disputing the Removal of a Listing
Listed an item (old padlock/key) that eBay removed, due to violation of the Government Items policy. Following suit with others I'd seen, my original listing description contained "railroad". In re-examining the padlock/key, there was no indication it had belonged to the railroad or the government; it appears to be a commercial padlock. I took new pictures...created a new listing only addressing it as an antique padlock/key. Listing was removed again for the same policy violation. Two questions:
1) Why was the listing removed when its not identified as belonging to the GOV or transient/shipping company?
2) Even if it belonged to a GOV/transient/shipping company, the policy specifically calls out keys for vehicles; limitations on padlock/key sets are not addressed.
The eMail I received indicated that railroads had indicated keys for SWITCHES should not be listed as they may still be in use. Again...there's no indication this padlock belonged to the railroad...or that the key fits a switch; it just appears to be an old padlock and key. The eMail went on to say eBay has decided to remove all railroad keys, just in case. Again, there's not indication this key belonged to the railroad.
I'm just confused and would appreciate information from the Forum. I've not been able to find a link to actually "dispute" this "delisting." I just want to sell this really nice item I found at an estate sale. Again...its an old padlock/key with only manufacturer's markings. Hope to hear from you.
