I started selling on eBay over a month ago. I have 100% positive rating. I take pride in shipping everything with care. I was informed that 2 items shipped to the same buyer were damaged during shipping. Buyer messaged me asked if I was going to make it right or what. I asked them to please submit a return. Once I received the items back I would send a full reimbursement. I paid for an eBay return label. They said it was going to cost them gas money to send it back and I shouldn’t be able to sell with the way I treat customers. I’m at a loss on how to handle this. I’ve tried being as accommodating as possible and professional. I don’t want this to get me a bad rating! When do I need to ask eBay to step in??

There are times when some Buyers mess with newer Sellers.
If the Buyer opened an Item Not as Described refund request on eBay and you accepted and provided a return label, that's all you need to do.
The Buyer can arrange for his return to be picked up. I would only communicate with him through the case. I would just tell him you look forward to getting his return.
If his messages get aggressive, there's a Report feature in eBay messaging.
Don't let him bully you.
