Different tracking number

Question

Hello all, i sold an item, printed the label as usual but when posting it the post office said it was too big to send, based on the ebay label, so i pay for next day delivery with a different tracking number and informed the buyer , is it possible to update the tracking number on the sale on the website? Otherwise ebay wont know they received the product. Not sure how it works, or if the buyer can inform they received the product.

Did the clerk scan the ebay label? If not, you can cancel/void the label within 28 days of printing it to get your money back.

Locate the label, click the down-arrow, click Cancel/void label. You only have 28 days from the day the label was printed.

The USPS will credit your account in 2-3 weeks after they have determined the label was never used.

Now go to the transaction, click EDIT when you see the tracking number. You can enter the new tracking number. This transaction will now have 2 tracking numbers.

Cancel the label you purchased through eBay. This will set the order back to waiting for shipment. Then select add tracking next to the order and add the correct tracking #.

Go to Shipping Labels in Seller Hub or Manage shipping labels in My eBay.
Find the item you'd like to cancel the shipping label for, then from the Actions column, select Cancel Label.
Choose your reason for canceling the label.
Select Send request.

The refund for the cancellation takes about 3 weeks.
