DHL shipment on hold awaiting for payment to make delivery??
I purchased a graphics card from a seller with 100% positive rating. They are located in Germany apparently. Anyhow my tracking info says my item is in seattle but on hold awaiting payment. I feel like something fishy is going on here. Anyone know whats going on here?

Mentor4 months agoMost likely the payment DHL is waiting for are the customs fees and tariffs. These fees are not included in the item price or shipping charge and need to be paid before the shipping carrier will deliver the item to you. Also, many shipping carriers other than the postal service will charge a fee to bring the item through customs which is also not covered by the shipping charge.

OP4 months agoYeah I wa finally able to figure it out. $575 is what I have to pay in fees and is absolutely insane. And if a dnt pay I will be screwed out even more money for the item purchased. This need to be stated much more clearly to purchasers who are not aware of how much this could cost. It need to be included at checkout somehow.

Mentor4 months agoeBay places a notice on the item that customs fees may be imposed prior to delivery (not sure of the exact wording). Unfortunately there is no way to know in advance what these fees may be which I know does not help.
