Detailed Seller Ratings: Reasonable Shipping Costs
Our detailed seller rating for reasonable shipping costs has fallen. A big reason is that USPS rates have increased, especially to rural zip codes. For example, $8.40 - $9.00 for a 1 ounce or 2 ounce item Buyers of course do not like these high rates and Seller takes the hit in detailed seller ratings.
Can eBay provide a more objective way to evaluate "reasonable seller costs?"

Mentor2 weeks agoeBay has never had any interest in making that detailed seller rating any more equitable.
In fact, when they first rolled out, you could get a low score even if you give free shipping. Buyers could still leave low scores when the shipping was free.
They eventually changed that.
The biggest change over the years is that the detailed seller ratings do not count or matter to anyone but the buyer that "might" look at them. eBay no longer sanctions sellers with low ratings.
I know that it is frustrating, believe me, I have made suggestions and comments to eBay since they day they rolled out. They are all subjective, opinion driven and have no real basis in fact, much like the feedback system
I try to ignore them. It's hard but it's about the best I can recommend.
