denied refund for item I never received.
I need to talk to a human at eBay. I ordered an item I never received and I am not sure what is wrong but the seller never provided me with a tracking number. I asked for one and then when he finally provided me with a number it said the item had been delivered the day before but I never received it. It the communication I was having with the seller he already accepted responsibility for the screwup. It seems the refund request is automated and since the tracking says the package was delivered they are not honoring the refund even though I never got the package. I think an ebay CSR could look and see what was going on.

Mentor7 months agoTake the tracking number down to the post office tomorrow. Have the clerk check their GPS system to see where exactly the package was delivered. If not to your address, they should try and retrieve the package. If it was to your address, you can file a police report as well as a claim with your homeowner's insurance.

OP7 months agoFirst of all it was Fedex not the Post Office. When I talked to the Fedex agent on the phone to complain they asked the number and said the package was delivered when I told them I never got it they asked me my name and when I did they said the package was not addressed to me.
The seller admitted right from the beginning that there had been a screwup with the tracking number. I assumed he had given me the wrong tracking number but it turned out to be the right tracking number for a package that was addressed to someone else. It should not have made any difference because it is a house and I am the only person who lives here.
I should not have to file a claim with FedEx but I am not even sure if I can do that because if the package was not addressed to me I am unsure of my rights.
I want to talk to an official eBay agent because IN the messages going back & forth the seller admits he screwed right from the very beginning. He did not even upload the tracking number till the day after it was (supposedly) delivered. If I had been tracking it I would have been on the lookout for the truck so this would never have happened.
None of this is my fault and eBay should honor their you get your item or you get your money back.
I have over the years maybe bought 50-100 items from eBay but I am never buying another item if they don't honor their agreement.
It is only an item that is a little over $15 but when I filed my claim they apparently did not even look at the messages between me & the seller or notice that the seller had admitted fault. All they cared about is that FedEx said it had been delivered.
I'm done with eBay.
