Denied protection for a $300 DOA headset because of Freight Forwarder - Found microscope proof of fr
Hi everyone, I’m in a really tough spot and need some advice or eyes on my case.
I’m a technician ,I saved up almost half my monthly salary to buy a high-end headset ($300). The listing said "Tested and Working," but when it arrived, it was completely dead. No audio at all.
I opened a return, but eBay support basically told me "tough luck" and disconnected the chat because I used a Freight Forwarder to get the item to Georgia (the country). I know the policy about forwarders, but this isn't shipping damage, this is a seller sending a broken item and calling it "working".
I didn't give up. I took the ear cup apart and used a digital microscope to see what’s wrong. One of the microscopic voice coil wires is snapped straight from the driver (see attached photo). Also check out other drivers photo where both coil wires are both attached (this is how it should be). This is a terminal defect that happened before it was ever shipped. There is zero chance this was "tested" and working.
I got scammed. I’m an honest buyer with 100% feedback, and it feels like eBay is using the "Freight Forwarder" rule as a shield to let sellers get away with sending garbage. The seller knows I can't realistically ship it back from here, so they are just sitting back and waiting for the case to close in their favor.
Has anyone managed to get a manual review in a case like this? I have the technical proof. they dont even do partial refund for me. Is there any way to reach a human who actually looks at evidence?this is second driver and it looks fine. this is exactly how other one must be.
