Delivered after INR - how to get reimbursed?
Summary: ddgear is seeking guidance on how to receive reimbursement after issuing a refund for an item that was later delivered. They note difficulty in finding how to request this reimbursement through eBay's policies. comics-scifi-collectibles suggests contacting eBay through social media channels and provides links to eBay's seller protection policies and customer service options. ddgear expresses frustration with having to use social media for business communications and thanks comics-scifi-collectibles for the helpful information.
I cannot figure out either the time frame for reimbursement or how to request one.
Item sold and shipped the same day. After 16 days, with no movement the prior 5 days, the buyer opened and INR and I refunded assuming it was lost. That was 8 days ago. 2 days later it was delivered. With the new policy if it was delivered and I purchased the label through eBay and shipped on time it should be reimbursed.
I have yet to see the reimbursement and cannot find a link or anything to file for reimbursement.
Any suggestions, links, or contact to file for the reimbursement would be helpful. I have had this happen before and normally a day or so after it delivered i get reimbursed, but not this time.

Mentor1 week ago@ddgear You may be eligible for seller protection>>
If you ship on time, use an eBay shipping label, and refund the buyer when they ask ( without eBay forcing a refund) through a INR refund request then you should qualify for Seller Protection if the item finally arrives. See this notice>
https://www.ebay.com/sellercenter/news/2025-september/inr-policy-updates
If the buyer files an INR case and tracking shows movement then you can ask eBay to give the item more time to arrive.
Contact customer service on social media using a PRIVATE message and ask for seller protection as stated in the link I shared> https://www.instagram.com/ebayforsellers/
6am to 6pm Pacific Time M-F
If that option does not work then I hope you have an honest buyer>
I would contact the buyer and say I see that your X finally arrived, I hope you are enjoying it. I would offer a small discount to encourage them to pay you back since part of your money is better than none.
You would have to make arrangements for the buyer to send you the payment via an electronic payment method such as Venmo, PayPal etc. This is not considered an offsite transaction since the sale already took place.

OP1 week agoThank you so very much. Its the pm in Facebook part i was missing.
Isn't it a bit ridiculous that you have to use Facebook to conduct business instead of sending them an email

Mentor1 week ago@ddgear You can try requesting a call back but it's much easier to go through Instagram.
Try this method to request a call back from Contact Customer service
Click this link> https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/getting-paid/getting-paid-items-youve-sold?id=4814
Then Type PAYOUT in the chat bot box on the lower right. (Do not add any additional information) I feel that this option to get past the bots is appropriate since it affects your bottom line.
Then AGENT after the bot responds. You might have to repeat those steps.
