Deleting my listing that is in violation of EBAY policies

Question

I created a listing yesterday that EBAY says violates their policies about selling an item outside of EBAY. It has been hidden. I cannot find what item violates the EBAY policy, and I have tried revising my listing several times, but it is still hidden. I am tired of fighting with it. How do I delete my listing?

If the item was moved to your Unsold - inactive file then brace yourself, it will remain there for about 90 days ... that's how long it took them to drop one of my listings that violated eBay's hazardous materials policy.

The listing had a "Resolve" choice on it but that didn't work and I couldn't just delete it from the file.

I understand how frustrating this. You have to be a bit of a detective and think like a bot to figure out what is causing the false flag.

The error message sounds like eBay thinks there is a phone number or other contact information in the actual listing.

Here are things to look for and edit to solve this:

1) Does your description mention "PayPal" if so, remove that.

2) Do you have a website URL, an email address, or a phone number in the description, the item specifics, or in the photos?
If so, remove those.

3) A series of 7 or 10 numbers that looks like a phone number?

4) An @ sign in the description?

5) A misplaced period example fitbit.ly lets go.to the mall

6) The word PO Box, Street, Avenue, or other things that could be part of an address?

7) If you copied and pasted the description, there can be a URL hidden in the text. I can explain how to remove that if needed.

@verticalgeo1 < EBAY says violates their policies about selling an item outside of EBAY > It may be that the eBay computer made a mistake, the horror the horror. Look for number strings, especially that are ten digits long, that might be mistaken for a phone number. Look for the character @ which might be mistaken for an email address. If you copied/pasted something, the material could have had embedded codes containing data that you can't see with your eyes, but a computer search can find. It would be nice to pin down exactly what caused the bot to "think" there was contact information, so you could prevent the same thing from happening again.
