Deleting a listing that is claimed to violate an eBay policy.
After many years of selling (well over 1000 items), ebay has ended a listing because their scanner says it violates their buy and sell outside of eBay policy. I can't access it to revise the listing, and I can't even just delete the listing (it fails to delete)

Mentor6 months agoIt can be a problem to know exactly why this gets caught by the bots that monitor listings. However, it is good to know how they look at the listing. The bots look at the title and the description and remove the spaces between the characters. Then they look at the string of characters for things on their prohibited list. So what usually triggers the message you received can be a string of 7 or 10 digits that can be interpreted as a phone number or the use of an "@" sign that can be interpreted as part of an email address especially if the next letters are com, net or edu. All you can do is to be careful if you are placing any of these things in your listing.
