Delayed shipping at customer request….
Customer purchased an item that cost $1000 and paid immediately. As this requires a signature, customer asked me to delay shipping as they are away from home until 10/10. Should I purchase the shipping label now and just ship on 10/10? I don’t want to get “dinged” for not shipping sooner but he won’t be home to sign for this parcel. Please advise as I have a perfect 100% positive feedback rating.

OP2 weeks agoI cancelled based on shipping address. Didn’t feel comfortable with a high priced item. If truly legit and item still available, will come back in October to purchase.

Mentor2 weeks agoAsk the buyer to cancel the transaction and relist it when they're ready. If you cancel it yourself, you'll get a defect, so it's better to have the buyer do it.

Mentor2 weeks agoShipping labels are only good for several days from when you purchase them. No shipping label will be good after several months. You are required to ship within your stated handling time or receive a shipping defect on your account. All you can really do is to cancel the purchase and relist the item at a time when the buyer will be able to purchase and be available to take delivery. You need to let the buyer know what you are doing so they will know what to do when you relist.
