Defective product
I received a cosmetic item that needs a pump to access the product. The top does not unscrew as is common with many high end cosmetic lines. My pump is broken. I have googled tricks to get it to work but without success. I asked for a replacement from the seller but was told no because I purchased more than 30 days ago. I often purchase one in anticipation of running out.
the seller, allagesolutuons, was less than kind about my problem. They told me the 30 day exchange is EBays policy. I’m out 75.00. Did anyone else experience this?

OP1 year agoI’ve tried exactly as you suggested. It did not budge. I guess my point is shouldn’t the seller stand behind what they sell?
I was hoping EBay would help but that hasn’t happened. I guess the next step is to take a hammer to the top!

Mentor1 year agoWhen the seller doesn't, eBay compels them to stand behind what they sell. There's the Money Back Guarantee, heavily weighted in favor of the buyer ... but you have to implement it in a timely manner, and that manner is 30 days. Beyond the period that the MBG is in effect, you can initiate a chargeback with your credit card company, if you want to get into that hassle.

I have three items in my bathroom right now that the tops don't unscrew. I insert the end of a screwdriver into the gap between the container and its top, and give the screwdriver a twist. This forces the top off the "snap together" connection. Sometimes it's necessary to move the screwdriver a ways along the gap for a second twist. To reinstall the top, set it back onto the container and press down hard. I remove the tops because I prefer the smaller containers and refill them.
A few times, pumps have ceased working properly on some of my items. I've been able to restore them to function simply by flushing them out with plain water, so far anyway. The product coagulates inside the pump and clogs it up.
