defective item return shipping paid for by seller

Question

Does anyone know how to get an uncooperative seller to pay the return shipping cost on a defective item? When I asked for the return shipping cost to be paid by the seller, I was ghosted. Ebay makes it impossible to talk to a live person there and I keep getting re routed back to the item return loop where I am again put back in touch with the seller where I'm getting no response.

Go to your purchase history - select return this item. Under reasons select does not match the description, and follow the prompts. In the comments enter defective.

The seller has 3 business days to send you a return label or a refund. If he doesn't, or says he cannot send a label, go to your case and click 'ask us to step in'.
