Defect on new item
I sold an item to my customer. I do not offer returns or refunds as stated in my listing. I also stated in my listing that the item is new and sold as is.
It had all labels and tags attached. Customer stated that under the sticker there was a defect. I’m assuming this means the removed the barcode sticker. To me that altered it and I may no longer be able to sell it in new condition if I do allow a return.
I'm really not quite sure how to proceed with this.

eBay gives buyers a 30-day Money Back Guarantee.
“As-is†is and “all sales final†is completely meaningless.
You can say “no returns,†and you do not have to pay to have the item shipped back to you, but you cannot refuse to refund the buyer. If you do, eBay will force the refund from you.
Best course of action: accept the return.
When the item arrives back, issue the refund. If the buyer has altered the item, report them. Block them from future purchases. Deduct any loss on your taxes and move forward.

OP2 years agoUgh. I was afraid of that. Thank you for the response. The bluntness is absolutely appreciated and clarified everything.
Would the buyer would be responsible for return shipping? Or am I out that as well? Would I also have to refund the shipping they paid at purchase?
I have never had a return and appreciate the help.
