Deceptive practices- non disclosure of defects
I bought a car on ebay that had expensive repairs to be able to pass inspection. Had I known about these I would not have bid. What recourse do I have.

·2 years agoThat car is over 50 years old you know there will be problems. With something like that you must inspect carefully before buying.

OP2 years agoI was 600 miles away and thought ebay would have some protections in place. The seller outright lied by omission. He did not disclose items that he knew were serious and expensive.

Mentor2 years agoWhen you went to meet the seller, did you take a mechanic with you to inspect the vehicle? Since motor vehicle sales are non-binding, you could have walked away then.

OP2 years agoHard to do when I am 600 miles away and expected him to be honest and ebay to protect buyers. Ebay only cares about sellers. Hard to walk away when Ebay has your credit card and there is a $1000 deposit being taken.

Mentor2 years agoThen I would contact the credit card company for a chargeback. Unfortunately, you can't recoup the gas to meet the seller, or any travel expenses, but that is probably a lot less than paying the seller for the vehicle with all of the defects.
