Dear eBay- Items are not "shipped" because the seller provided a tracking number
Dear eBay- Items are not "shipped" because the seller provided a tracking number. Items are "shipped" when the carrier is in "possession" of the item. Please correct!
So tired of sellers marking items "shipped" just because a label was printed - then, there is no movement for over a week. Perfect example why eBay former popularity is slipping, shadowed of course by the burdensome seller FEES.

I sell my handmade items in several different places, here’s what my fees look like:
eBay: 13.25%
Another online platform: 18%
Small yearly craft fair at my church: 20% of my total sales
large craft fair in our town: $250 up front, works out to 20% - 25% for the weekend’s sales
i have a permanent weekend booth at our local flea market: works out to about 22% of my sales
ebay has everyone beat by a mile!

Mentor3 years agoI receive similar emails from most every online store/company I buy from. The label creation triggers the email. (Most say something like "your order is on the way.") Some sellers use an ordering system that triggers a label as soon as the order comes in.
It doesn't matter when the seller ships, it only matters that you receive the item on or around the estimated delivery date. Sellers may have handling times from 1-30 days, and their handling time is built into the delivery estimate.
Also keep in mind that not all sellers print labels through eBay and not all sellers ship with tracking. So you may not have shipping information for all orders anyway. If these emails bother you, I would suggest you just ignore them.
