Dealing with a toxic buyer
I just sold an item where the buyer left negative feedback claiming he received the wrong items when they haven't been delievered yet. He left the feedback the same day the item shipped. When I messaged him about it, giving him the benefit of the doubt thinking he confused it with another order, he just replied with childish emojis. I've never had to deal with a toxic buyer acting in bad faith before. Whats the best process of getting the false negative feedback removed, and making sure he doesn't get away with anything else they try to pull?

·2 years agoThe best approach is to sit on it a while. Don't respond to the feedback. Give the actual item time to arrive.
As you suspected, it sounds like the buyer made a mistake and left feedback for the wrong item. That embarrassing situation (or the buyer's age) may be the reason for the childish behavior. Maybe they'll be amenable to a feedback revision after they get the item.
If the buyer tries to pull "something else", you can get customer service involved and point to the feedback that was left on the same day the item was shipped, as proof that "something else" was in the works from day one.
If things go south, you could report the buyer

Then respond to the feedback with the facts of the matter, that the buyer left feedback the day you shipped, so the feedback was obviously meant for someone else.
