Dealing with a return for a buyer, and who pays that return shipping charges?
I sold a golf club and the USPS (they really suck) took over a month to deliver it. The buyer did not want to wait that long and returned it to me, now they want me to pay them back for the $24.02 shipping cost. As the seller, am I responsible for this and if so, how can I get these funds to them? Thanks

OP2 years agoIn this case, since the USPS took so long to deliver the item (about a month) the buyer did not want it, when it finally arrived. So he returned it. I finally got it back another 2 weeks later and have the listing back up. So am I responsible to refund the shipping fees, since the buyer canceled his purchase? I'm already out my shipping fees and I allowed the buyer to return the item and refunded his purchase price. Thanks

Mentor2 years ago@dsone1kl8 You don't have to refund the shipping according to eBay policy. However doing so may prevent a negative feedback that eBay will not remove, sometimes to consider.

Mentor2 years ago@dsone1kl8. If they refused the delivery then per eBay policy you're not required to refund anything.
If they filled an official return request then the reason used on the return and your return policy determines who pays return shipping.
If you choose to refund the shipping it would have to be outside of eBay using a electronic funds method like venmo.
