Damaged shipment - help
Hoping someone can provide some helpful advice!
I haven't bought/sold on Ebay for several yrs now, but my experience historically has been nothing but excellent. Until now.
I sold a turntable that arrived to the buyer today. To ship, I took extensive care to wrap bc these are hatd to ship. Wrapped individual pieces, taped moving parts down and then had it extensively bubble wrapped and boxed professionally. I also insured it for the full amount.
The buyer is saying it arrived completely smashed up. Which I find hard to believe, but i know things can happen. He's refusing to provide photos of the damage and demanding a return.
I called Ebay, opened a claim and they said they'll reach out to him.
What else can I do? I'm suspecting a scam bc this guy won't send photos. It's insured so I'd like to resolve quickly. But what should I look out for if this guy refuses to show proof? Will Ebay still insist I refund him?
My site days no refunds accepted but I had it insured just in case of something like this.
Thanks for any advice you have!

Mentor1 year agoYou should have told the buyer to file a returns request for item not as described/damaged. S/he would then be asked to provide up to 10 photos of the damage. After refunding, and telling the buyer to set everything aside in case the carrier wants to inspect it all, you would go to the carrier's website and look for the link to file an insurance claim, uploading all of the photos the buyer sent. I am not aware of any case you, the seller can file, when the buyer claims damage.
