damaged product
I sent a package to buyer and it was received totally damaged. I got a refund of 100.00 from USPS for the damage. But the total was 128.00. How do I get ahold of Ebay to see if I can get the rest from EBay So I can get the total refund sent to the buyer. I am out 65.00 myself because the product was destroyed but the buyer paid 65.00 for product then 56.00 for shipping.

Mentor2 years agoIt kind of goes without saying, but maybe package the item better than you think you should. The USPS does not handle packages with care. Too many of these issues and you may find yourself suspended or worse.

Did you pay for the additional $28 insurance?
When you use Ebay shipping, it comes with $100 insurance. If the item was worth more, than you needed to pay for the extra insurance.
You owed the buyer a refund in full promptly including shipping cost regardless of receiving any money from a claim.

OP2 years agoYes I understand that I have to give a full refund that’s not the issue. I basically made nothing on this sale and now have no product either. Is that generally how things go unless a person buys the extra insurance?

·2 years agoThat is what insurance is for. As seller you are the one stuck with the loss that is not covered by insurance (e.g. the insurance that comes for certain classes of service/carriers, or none for some) when your carrier looses or damages or misdelivers the package. Why would you think eBay would cover that?
