Damaged Item

Question

I mailed a package and it was packed very well with chipboard and it was still folded and squeezed in mailbox. Shouldnâ€™t buyer have a place for packages instead of squeezing in mailbox. Am I responsible?

Yes, you are responsible for getting the item to the buyer in listed condition. Clearly, the postal carrier was irresponsible and could have delivered to the door, but only if you insured the item can you recover your money.

I would use a carton or unbendable chipboard to mail anything that shouldn't be folded.

Go to My ebay > Purchase History and select RETURN THIS ITEM. For the reason, select Not as Described. You will need to click on More actions. The seller will have 3 days to reply. If no reply, then click the link to Ask ebay to step in. If the seller accepts the return, he is responsible for supplying a prepaid shipping label. Print out the label, affix it to the box, and make sure the carrier scans the label. Once tracking shows DELIVERED back to the seller, he has 2 days to refund you. If no refund, go back to the case and click Ask ebay to step in, to force the refund.
