I shipped a large very expensive item and it was damaged during shipping. What do I do as a seller.

Mentor2 years agoGet pictures from the buyer of item and packaging to include with your claim with the carrier. Tell buyer to keep everything for inspection. Refund the buyer, or offer a partial refund to cover damages.
Or if you want the item back before refunding, accept and pay for the return then refund, but this will void any claim with the carrier.

·2 years agoDepends on if you want it returned before refunding or file an insurance claim.
If it was insured:
Ask the buyer for a few pictures of the item and package, then refund the buyer.
Have the buyer hang on to the item and package so it can be inspected.
You file a claim with the carrier.
