Damaged in shipping
I recently shipped an expensive vintage light fixture through USPS & the buyer reported it was damaged in shipping. I am issuing the buyer a full refund. However, when I purchased the shipping label through eBay, I purchased the additional shipping insurance to cover not just the standard $100, but the full purchase price of the item. How do I go about making a claim? Is it through eBay or the post office?

Mentor5 months agoDid you ask the buyer for photos of the outer packaging, inner packaging, shipping label, damaged item? Tell the buyer to set that all aside in case the USPS wants to inspect it. If not, do so now. After refunding the buyer, you go to the USPS website and file an insurance claim, uploading the photos the buyer sent.
