cut off time for cancelling an order?

Question: Is there a cutoff time to cancel an order that has not yet shipped? 30 days? 60?

I purchased 3 books from a seller over 3 weeks ago. I contacted him around a week ago and he said they usually need 3-4 weeks to ship. Looks like the auction page said such by way of the 'deliver by date'. I didn't even know getting a month to ship was a thing on eBay.. They were good deals so I've been anxiously waiting for a shipping notice. I'm wanting to cancel the orders if they don't ship within a month but I'd hate to wait a month and suddenly be unable to cancel the orders.

Go to your Purchase History and locate the purchased item. What is the last estimated delivery date? You have up to 30 days past that date in order to file an Item Not Received case, to get your money back. Once you file, the seller has 3 days to provide a tracking number that shows Delivered or issue a full refund. If the seller does neither, on day 4 you return to the case and click Ask ebay to step in, to force a refund.

If it is past the 30 day limit, you will need to log into Paypal and file an Item Not Received case there, if that is how you paid, as they allow up to 180 days from date of purchase to file, to get your money back.

If you paid with a credit card, file a charge back with your credit card issuer.

Buyers can only REQUEST to cancel an order. Sellers are not obligated to do so. Sellers can specify a handling time of same day all the way to 40 days, which is why buyers need to look at the estimated delivery date before making a purchase.
