"Customized item" ?
What does it mean when you purchase an item, and when it's sent in for the authentic process it states it a "customized item"?

A customized sports card could be a stock card that as been manually autographed after the fact, or that may have a relic embedded. eBay's authenticators can authenticate the card, but not the autograph or relic.
