Customers refunded for items not received nor tracking updated.
eBay recently refunded two of my customers after they opened a case for items not received nor tracking updated. Listings stated, "arriving late" and "heading to next facility". My post office had the same info as I did. Now, should the items ever arrive, the customers have my money, and are entitled to keep the items. Do you really think either customer will return the money or the items? I don't.

You may be eligible for seller protection>>
If you ship on time and refund the buyer when they ask through a INR refund request then you do qualify for Seller Protection if the item finally arrives IF you use an eBay shipping label. See this notice>
https://www.ebay.com/sellercenter/news/2025-september/inr-policy-updates
If the buyer files an INR case and tracking shows movement then you can ask eBay to give the item more time to arrive.
For future orders>
Filing a missing mail search is helpful many times. If that doesn't work then you file a postal insurance claim.
Contact customer service on social media using a PRIVATE message and ask for seller protection as stated in the link I shared> https://www.instagram.com/ebayforsellers/
