Customer wants to return a For Parts Only....No Returns
Quick info dump on the situation; a buyer has purchased a FOR PARTS ONLY tool. FOR PARTS condition stating "FOR PARTS ONLY: Item Will Be Heavily Used With Limited Lifespan Left. Item Could Be Missing Critical Pieces For Full Functionality, Physically Damaged, or No Longer Functional. Tools In This Category Are Being Sold As-Is And Are Non-Returnable"
Along with providing infomation in the title, every photo (in 2 languages), seller notes, and the tool description; we have also made it clear we do not accept returns for this listing and even provided details about when the issue is...
A case is created where the buyer wants to return the item for the exact reason we are selling it as FOR PART ONLY (corroded battery). Even after providing all the details eBay has sided with the Buyer so now we are out labor and shipping for this item.... what are we missing? How else can we provide information? Or is this just a waste of time because eBay is going to support the customer and collect their fees instead of supporting the seller's their whole site is built on?

This issue comes up quite often. As Mentors, we recently asked eBay staff how to respond to these posts, especially since the Seller has listed the item correctly. EBay staff responded that if you look at the listing and the eBay Money Back Guarantee is posted, the Buyer can return the item just like any other sale. This listing has that Guarantee posted.
Unfortunately, when Sellers put their own Terms and Conditions in their listing descriptions, those are not supported by eBay and eBay will not enforce them. The eBay Money Back Guarantee overrides all of that.
What Sellers can do differently is accept returns. EBay offers more protection for Sellers who do that.
I'm sincerely sorry this happened to you.
