@mayhemrecords I recommend asking your question here first then if we can't help you I can give you the best contact method depending on your problem. We are experienced buyers and sellers and know eBay's policies and procedures.

Thanks so much for your help. I don't use social media. I've been selling on ebay for well over a decade. I tried to ask the user forum about this problem before... Ebay keeps deleting the names of the bands and/or album titles of my records and CDs that are for sale. Then acts like it's my fault & tags the listings as "missing item specifics". I don't have time to keep fixing these listings over and over...
@mayhemrecords Sorry you didn't get a reply before, that usually happens if you have stumped the Mentor team, plus there are only a small number of us that are active daily.
What listing tool are you using? Are you using the advanced listing tool in Seller Hub?
When does the deletion happen? Is during the listing process or after the items are active?
Is eBay actually removing the listings because they don't have item specifics OR is it just the recommendation to add item specifics notice, I THINK that eBay stopped sending notices for this though.

I didn't know there was such a thing as a listing tool (or advanced listing tool) my listings are pretty simple... I just click sell similar item and change the necessary info.

The vital info gets deleted later, I think it varies on time. I don't think it's possible to create an ebay listing without the name of the band or title of the record / CD...

All the item specifics are correct until ebay removes them, it's possible that the glitch happens after relisting sometimes, but many of the listings missing "item specifics" have never sold. Probably because nobody can see my listings that are missing any information in the first place. Of course this hurts my business & I'm paying for a certain amount of listings and not getting what I paid for...
@mayhemrecords The only thing I can think of that might cause this is if you are using Sell Similar to relist items. It can lose data sometimes.
Two suggestions.... First is try asking this on the public Selling Board where more sellers can respond and see if they are experiencing similar issues with eBay removing item specifics from Active listings.
There are some great volunteers on that board and all sellers can respond on it.
If the sellers can not help figure it out then you will need to contact eBay customer service. If they only say they will "open a ticket" then don't hold out too much hope of it being fixed. Hopefully you will get an agent that will actually help troubleshoot the problem.

OP1 year agoThanks for all your help! This should be ebay's responsibility not yours...

OP1 year agoBefore ebay started doing this about 5 years ago, I was selling around $30,000 a year on ebay.
Now it's probably around 3 or 4 thousand a year. Strange that ebay doesn't care... I'm sure thousands of other people must have the same problem.
