Customer Service
How do you contact a LIVE person for customer service on e-Bay? I received a USPS package from a seller that was damaged in shipment. The package was empty but had a tracking number. I contacted the seller via e-mail about the issue but have been informed that since the package was received there is nothing that I can do to get a refund. It appears that if you send a USPS package with a tracking number as long as you receive the package, regardless if it is empty, then you have received your item(s). I have been trying to speak to a LIVE person at e-Bay with no results. I'm **bleep** about this situation!

Mentor2 years agoHello gunfighterusmc,
eBay has a 30-day Money Back Guarantee. If you received an item you paid for that is not as described in the listing, you can open an Item Not as Described case. The Seller is required to respond with a solution. Typically the Seller should issue a full refund and then the Seller would file an insurance claim with USPS. Your first step though is opening the case. If the Seller does not respond to the case by eBay's deadline, you can ask eBay to get involved. That will not end well for the Seller.

OP2 years agoI did not receive the items. I did receive a USPS package that was empty. All the items in the package were missing, i.e. lost by USPS. Since I did receive the package via a USPS tracking number, the seller and e-Bay have closed the case. From this I assume that any seller could send an empty package to a buyer with a USPS tracking number and claim that the item was received. Totally useless trying to speak to a LIVE customer service representative and explain the issue. I certainly would like to explain the issue to a real LIVE representative, so how does one go about that?

OP2 years agoBy the way, I do have documentation from the USPS showing that they acknowledge the damage and I do have pictures of the damaged package.

Mentor2 years agoFrom reading your post, it sounds like you may have opened an Item Not Received case. If so, that's why eBay would have closed it because the package shows delivered. The correct case to open is Item Not as Described. You should still be able to open that type of case. You would have 30 days from the date of delivery to open that case.
