Customer Return - Did not read the discription
Customer did not fully read the description of the Item(s) I was selling. I am selling 40 "hurricane clips", It clearly states in the description, "selling in packs of 20".
And the sell quantity is for 2 , not 40. Now he is taking a hostile tone in his demand for a refund siting all this legal precedent in a very threatening tone.
Any suggestions.

OP4 months agoThanks...All good replies...but I respectfully disagree. The qty box had "2" not "40", first missed read. And the description has in 14 BOLD font selling in pacts of 20.
I sent his money back and a pre-paid return shipping label for $5.40 and I'm done with him.
It will be interesting to see if he gives me a negative review.
Moving on...maybe.

The description AND title should have said 20 then you select the quantity of 2 and buyers can purchase 2 for a total of 40. The photo should ONLY have been of one box of 20.
The title says 40 so that is what the buyer will expect.

If you have already refunded him, he may not return the item.
Did you refund through a return case? If so once you refund, the buyer no longer has access to the return label.
If so, send him another label this way if you want your items back:
1) Create a label from a 3rd party site such as Pirate Ship
2) Save the label. By default the label is a PDF file
3) Open the pdf label and Save As a JPG file
- You could also screenshot or "clip" the label to make a JPG
4) Send the JPG to the buyer by eBay Messages. (PDFs don't send through messages.

Mentor4 months ago@310pompano. The title of the listing says 40. Your title and description cannot be different.
Your choices are issue a partial refund if the buyer is willing to accept.
Or accept the return request. Issue a return shipping label or refund without a return.

OP4 months agoI told him that I would give a full refund, including shipping, if he returned the 20 that I sent. The guy has a legal background (I Googled him) and sends me a message with all this legal precedence to try to intimidate me. Very hostile. With his background he should know to READ the entire post. Not just the opening title. I'm waiting for his reply.

Your listing is for 40 clips. That's what a reasonable buyer would expect. The comment in the description doesn't change what the title says and what the photo shows (40)
Advise the buyer you will send a 50% refund or if he prefers, he should open a return request. Don't engage or worry about his legal threats.
Another solution might be to send the buyer the other pack of 20.
If the buyer returns the item, you'll have to pay the return postage and refund the buyer in full.
