Customer Requests Delayed Shipping
I have a customer who bought a jacket from me, but won't be back at shipping residence for a week. They would like me to delay shipping until next week, but I have a 1 day shipping policy. How do I satisfy my customer, while not getting a penalty for late shipping by eBay?

OP1 year agoI contacted eBay and they stated that I should mark the item as shipped during the shipping policy timeframe, then purchase the label at the time the customer requested the shipping to occur.

It would be nice if you could accommodate the buyer, but you aren't obligated to take a ding to your account to do so. I just today got back from a week in Colorado Springs, and I had the post office hold my mail while I was away. That buyer could do, or could have done, the same as I did, if you ship by mail. I checked one of your listings, and the shipping was ground advantage. If you ship by FedEx or other non-postal method, of course a hold notice at the post office won't do any good.

The buyer can have their mail/packages held at the post office or have someone pick up their mail at their home.
