Customer Requests Delayed Shipment
Hello,
I've been a member of eBay for more than 20 years but this is a new situation for me.
I sold a camera. eBay sends me an email that I got paid (money is not yet in my bank account).
Customer then sends a message. He requests delayed shipment by about 2 to 2.5 weeks as he will be traveling for the next couple of weeks. Any red flags here? Can anything go wrong with a scenario where the seller holds the item for a few weeks?

Mentor2 years agoIf you do not ship within your stated handling time eBay will issue you a defect on your account for not shipping promptly no matter if the buyer has asked you to delay shipment. There is usually nothing wrong with buyers doing this but it causes you problems. The only real way around this is to let the buyer know you have to cancel the purchase (at buyers request) and then relist after they return home. Then they can repurchase the item and you can ship promptly.
