Customer package returned because client no longer lives at address

Question

I got a message today saying a package I mailed would be returned because the customer no longer lived at that address. They gave me a new address to ship it to and the package got back to my place today. Who pays for shipping to the new address and how does ebay know that it was sent?

@weekendins The buyer pays to ship the item again.

You can send the buyer a PayPal invoice for the cost to ship the item again. OR have them send you the $ using an electronic method such as Venmo etc. You are allowed to share contact information after a recent sale. This is not considered an offsite sale as the sale has already taken place.

Go to Pirateship dot com to buy the shipping label. They charge the same price as eBay.

The only other option is to refund the item price ONLY and relist so they can buy again with the correct address. You would select send refund from the drop down menu next to the item.
